After the trials then cometh the blessings....

I'm not very good at keeping this updated but I thought that in light of all that's happened in the last little while I would be very ungrateful for the many many blessing that the Lord has shown me.
We've been out here in Roosevelt for about 4 months now. Our home in Logan has been on the market for the last 6 months. We've been making 2 house payments and barely making it by each month. We've tried to remain faithful through all this but have gotten discouraged quite often when month after month would go by and nothing would happen with our home. There has been much fasting and prayer and many trips to the temple to try and understand what it was that we needed to do. Finally this last week we got a call from our real estate agent telling us that he had a renter for us that wanted to rent the home for a year and a half. A family from Venezuela with 2 kids coming over to go to USU. The daughter and her husband and the girls' brother. Everything just seemed to fall into place at the right time.
I've learned a lot from this experience. Things don't always go according to the way we hope or plan them. Sometimes we need to put a little more trust in the Lord and His timing to know what is best for us. And if we endure our trials well, then we receive those blessings that he has promised us. When trials do come I try to look at it and ask myself, "what am I supposed to be learning from this?" and it seems to help me handle it better.
I'm grateful for my savior and for all the blessings that I have received. It wasn't exactly what I would have planned to happen but It works for us right now.
Also, we are expecting again. #4 baby will be here in June 2010. We didn't plan this out very well because we will have 4 birthday in a 3 week period....oh well, good thing we like cake. :)

And someday I will figure out how to post pictures on here, but for now you just get words....sorry.

Here in Roosevelt, Utah....

These last few months have been, to say the least, a little crazy. Putting our house up for sale, taking the kids to museums, crying about moving, taking repeated trip to vernal to find a place to live, mini vacation to Midway, crying some more about moving, packing, another trip to find somewhere to live and finding a decent place, actually moving, being exhausted from moving, and unpacking. It's been quite a time. But we are so glad to say that we are finally moved in and getting settled and familiar with our surroundings.
I just want to let all of our friends know how much we love and appreciate all of you and just how much we area going to miss the green meadows area. Our home has still not sold and is sitting vacant at the moment. Hopefully this will change soon to relieve this burden from us.
We are renting a very nice town house in Roosevelt in a subdivision called "the Meadows". We thought that was pretty funny. Like where we were but we just lost the green. which is mostly true because there isn't much green out here to begin with. Our ward has been very friendly to us and we are slowly starting to put names to faces. It's going to be a big adjustment, especially when we have to help the kids adjust too.
Anyway, we just wanted to let you know we made it out safely and hope that things go well for us out here. Our new address here is: 454 N. 190 E. Box # 842-4

Escargot....

Jeff and I took a little get-a-way trip to Vernal this weekend to try and find a place for us to live. My parents are so wonderful and were able to come and watch our kids so we could have a night away. We had a very nice and relaxing time as a couple. I think we almost forgot how nice it is. :) We were able to look around at some rental properties but didn't really find anything yet. We stayed at the Landmark Inn bed and breakfast and went to the Vernal temple the next morning. It was very nice. It was good to be able to just drive around and look around and get the feel of the area.
We got home Saturday evening and had a nice restful sunday. After school on Monday Jeff and I had a great opportunity to go and be chaperones to the French class at the High school. We went by bus down to Salt Lake to the La Caille Restaurant ( http://www.lacaille.com/) . It is a very expensive ($100/plate) French restaurant that is nestled back in the foothills and is absolutly beautiful. Any student that wanted to go had to pay $30 each, but Jeff and I got to eat for free. It was amazing. We even had escargot (snails)!!!!! (They actually weren't that bad) After a 5 course meal we were able to go and walk around the grounds. They have their own vinyard and a bunch of just free range chickens, peacocks, geese. I'll say it again.....It was an amazing (and probably once-in-a-lifetime) experience.

A job, a funeral, and new life

I've said it many times before that our lives our constantly changing. Our lives seem to never slow down. The week after Jeff accepted the job near Vernal everything has been a whirlwind. Jeff's dad came to visit from California and stayed for a couple of days. We had a really good visit with him and his wife Dolly. We haven't seen them for a while. While they were visiting we got a call saying that Jeff's grandma Thompson had passed away and the funeral would be later that week. We celebrated Cinco de Mayo (the 8th anniversary of our first date) and made preparations to travel to fairview, Utah for the funeral.
We left thurday and stayed in a 7 bedroom care center/house that Jeff's grandpa had rented for a couple of days for all the extended family. It was very nice. fully furnished with play room, kitchen, towels, media room. It was better than a hotel. We were grateful to be able to see so much of Jeff's family that we haven't seen for a very long time. All of his siblings were able to come out. Traveling from California and Maryland. After the the funeral all of our family and Jeff's siblings traveled down to Richfield to stay at Jeff's mother's place. The kids had a blast playing with cousins they haven't seen in nearly 3 years. It was good to catch up with everybody.
We stayed down there over mother's day and my parent's sent an email around to my family telling us that my sister and her husband (the one that's been married just a few month's longer than Jeff and I) were expecting their first baby!!!! We were so excited for them. It's been a long road for them because of fertility issues. Well, after a llloonnnggg weekend we made it home and were sooooo gratful to be home and to try and get our kids back on some sort of schedule.
It has been a very emotional couple of weeks buitI am so very gratful for the knowledge that I have of the plan of salvation. That families CAN be together forever and that we have a loving Father in Heaven who loves us and knows our every need and wants us to be happy. I'm grateful for my family and my 3 beautiful children. As hard as it is to be a mother, I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

We are moving!!!!

The last couple of weeks Jeff has had a few interviews and 2 of which were in Vernal. He was offered a job near Vernal after his second interview out there this last week. So, after much praying, crying, being frustrated, and going to the temple we have decided that this is the course we need to take for now in our lives. As difficult as it may be to move away from our beautiful Cache valley we decided to accept the assistant principal position that was offered to us. So we are putting our house up for sale and are going to be moving to Vernal this summer. We are going through our stuff and downsizing and de-junking. If anybody is interested in the items we have, feel free to come on over and take a look and get a good deal.
Some of the things we're getting rid of and try to sell are:

a couple of art easles
really nice baby changing table/dresser
bookshelves and books
kitchen table and chairs
lots of toys
household cleaning products (from Jeff's dad)
twin size beds ( box springs also. you'd need to get a new mattress for top)
rocking chair and foot stool
our big sectional couch
small TV stand

If anybody or anybody that you know of that might be interested send them on over. We are hoping for a nice saturday sometime so we can have a garage sale.

sick and crazies!!!

So ,from my point of view, things have been a little crazy here at the Morris home. Jeff is finally finished with school!!!!! YEAH!!!! At least until he decides he's not making enough money and wants to go back to school for a doctorate, which probably won't happen for a long time. Anyway, we have made it past that hurdle in our lives, which inevitable brings us to the next hurdle......finding an administration position for next year......meaning...a new job and the possibility of having to move. He has applied to many different school districts here within Utah and just had his first interview for an assistant principal job in Vernal. (I know, Vernal?...What's in Vernal?) SO we packed up teh family and took a mini vacation to Vernal to check out the area and see if it was somewhere that we thought we could be happy. Let me tell you, the ride to get there was horrible. Especially when you have 3 screaming kids in the back seat and still an hour before you actually get there, not so much fun. It took us about 4 1/2 hours to get there from Logan. It was late when we got into Vernal so we got a room for the night and spent most of the next morning looking around town and sightseeing while waiting for Jeff's interview. As for Vernal, it's not that bad of an area. Housing prices on the other hand are a bit rediculous. Everybody had jacked up the prices of their homed being sold becuase they think the value is greater becuase of the oil fields out there. I don't get it, but that's pretty much why. It was good to be able to stay a little longer to get an idea of the area. And then came time for the return trip home.......just as bad as the trip out.
Anyway we made it back home, Jeff was a little bummed because he didn't think he impressed the interviewers as well as he would have liked to and he didn't expect to get a call before the weekend. (meaning their weekend because they don't work on friday's in the Uintah school district so he was expecting to hear from them by Thursday night) Well they didn't call by thursday evening so we said "okay" and tried to not get any hopes up and decide what to do next. It's all a little frustrating when you are trying to decide what would be best for your family and you've been praying about it and hoping to feel inspired and are totally worried about where we're going to be living for next year and if we need to put the house up for sale and etc....etc....etc.....and getting nothing.
This is just about how crazy it's been for the last 2 1/2 months. It's been very stressful on myself and my dear husband so much to the point that it has made me sick. (And also probably from some bug that's been going around because Sarah is sick also).
That's is a little bit of an update with us. Oh and, just to mess with us I'm sure, Uintah school district called Jeff back the next day (Friday) and invited him back for a second interview this next Thursday!!!!! Crazy huh!!!! I asked him if they were going to pay for your gas and lodging? I don't think they are. He told them he'd be there. He also has 2 other interviews this week in Salt Lake, so I get to stay home with the kiddos while my sweet husband gets to travel everywhere.
We'll keep you all up to date on our happenings.
